Veterans and Suicide - We Must Overcome

Not to be cast aside and forgotten

NOT to be cast aside and forgotten!

While America goes about it's day to day business and Americans get up and go to work each day, get to sit at the lunch table with friends and co-workers, get to go HOME each night to spend time with their loved ones, plan and take vacations to interesting places, enjoy the FREEDOM to choose the home they live in, cars they drive, jobs they have and get to take advantage of their RIGHTS in this great nation....

There are LARGE numbers of brave men and women who have served our nation, sacrificed their own lives with friends and family in order to do their part to ensure that the rest of us in America get to stay home and enjoy all of our FREEDOMS and RIGHTS each and every day. These brave men and women are sent away to other countries to fight, some lose limbs, and some lose their lives. All in the name of Liberty and FREEDOM.

We have today, in America an ever increasing number of veterans who have valiantly served for ALL OF US - who now find themselves without homes, lost families, no jobs, unable to provide their next meal... Some even giving up completely and committing suicide.

This is completely UNACCEPTABLE. We live in the richest and most abundant nation in the world. There is NO reason at all that WE as Americans should allow our defenders to be without food, clothing, shelter or work if they're able.

What ALL of us SHOULD be doing is giving our time, our resources and funding to make sure that our true heroes are treated with dignity, respect and thanks - every day.

They have done their duty and have served and protected ALL OF US and our RIGHTS and FREEDOMS.... Now, America, it's time we stand up as a nation and make sure that WE do OUR DUTY and help those heroes in need.

Please, join VETS ROCK in this fight to provide for those who have provided for us all.

There are different ways that YOU can do your part to help. You can volunteer your time at various events for VETS ROCK. You can make regular monetary donations or even one time donations to assist VETS ROCK in providing even just the basic needs of life for our veterans - food, shelter and clothing.

Visit http://www.vetsrock.org for more information on our organization and to make donations. You can also download our volunteer application to complete and send into us so that we know YOU would like to volunteer your time in your local area to help VETS ROCK do it's part to put a stop to this horrible situation for our veterans - our HEROES.

Thank you for your support.

NO MORE HUNGRY VETS! - VETS ROCK

The purpose of this BLOG is to gain 500,000 signatures on our online petition of people around the United States who beleive that there should be NO veteran of the US Military that goes hungry at any time.

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/no-more-hungry-vets/

Every night in the United States - More than 133,000 veterans are homeless and hungry, not regularly able to get a meal or have a home of their own.

If you will, imagine one of those brave men or women being - YOU, your brother, your sister, your father or mother...Maybe a neighbor, an old friend..... Now, think of the home you have for you and your family. Think of being able to sit at the dinner table each night and share a meal with those you love. Think of the warm, safe bed you and your family get to sleep in each night.

Now, again....Think of that brave man or woman who put their own life in harms way - so that you and your family could have and maintain the FREEDOM to have a home and dinner each night. They have sacrificed so much for us all - Some even making the ultimate sacrifice by giving their life for us.

Isn't it time that WE, as a NATION started to show all of them our gratitude and do all we can to help ensure that NO man or woman who serves this nation in the services of the US Military EVER be without a home or daily meals?

Isn't it time that WE as Americans started to make some of our own sacrifices for them?

At VETS ROCK, we think it is time. Please join us in our goal of NO MORE HUNGRY VETS.

We also hope that those that support this iniative and drive, will also make donations to VETS ROCK to assist us in carrying out this part of our mission of "providing for those who have provided for us all."

Thank you for your support.
